CNC Turning & Milling Operator / Machinist
- Set up and operate CNC turning and milling machines according to engineering drawings and production requirements.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, work instructions, and machining specifications.
- Perform machine setting, tool selection, tool offset adjustment, and workpiece alignment.
- Load and unload components and ensure correct fixture and tool setup.
- Operate CNC controls and monitor machining operations to maintain required production standards.
- Carry out basic CNC program editing and make necessary offset corrections.
- Inspect machined components using vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other measuring instruments.
- Maintain dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and required tolerances.
- Identify and troubleshoot common machining, tooling, and dimensional issues.
- Replace and manage cutting tools based on tool wear and machining requirements.
- Perform in-process and final inspection of components.
- Maintain machine cleanliness, tooling, fixtures, and work area according to 5S and safety requirements.
- Follow production schedules, quality procedures, safety standards, and company work instructions.
- Record production, inspection, tool-life, and machine-related information as required.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of CNC turning and CNC milling operations.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining parameters.
- Familiarity with CNC controllers such as Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments and inspection methods.
- Basic understanding of CNC programming, G-code and M-code.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
Typical Qualification:
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in CNC machining is preferred.
