Job Description

CNC Machine Operator / Setter / Programmer

Job Description

We are looking for CNC Machine Operators, Setters, and Programmers to join our manufacturing team. Candidates will be responsible for operating CNC machines, setting up jobs, interpreting engineering drawings, and preparing/editing CNC programs to achieve quality production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC Turning, VMC, and other CNC machines safely and efficiently.

  • Set up machines, tools, fixtures, and workpieces according to job requirements.

  • Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.

  • Perform tool setting, work offset setting, and tool offset corrections.

  • Load and edit CNC programs and make necessary adjustments during production.

  • Develop and modify CNC programs using G-code/M-code as required.

  • Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.

  • Inspect components using measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, Height Gauge, and Gauges.

  • Monitor machining operations and ensure components meet quality specifications.

  • Identify and troubleshoot machine, tooling, and machining problems.

  • Carry out first-piece inspection and maintain consistent production quality.

  • Maintain machine cleanliness and follow safety procedures.

  • Minimize tool wear, rejection, and machine downtime.

  • Maintain production records and follow company quality procedures.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of CNC/VMC machine operation and setting.

  • Ability to understand engineering drawings.

  • Knowledge of G-code and M-code.

  • Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, fixtures, speeds, and feeds.

  • Knowledge of measuring instruments and quality inspection.

  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Qualification

  • ITI / Diploma – Mechanical / Production / Tool & Die / CNC-related trades

  • Freshers and experienced candidates can be considered depending on the position.
