Key Responsibilities:
Setup and Operation:
Setting up the lathe machine, selecting appropriate tools, and operating the machine to cut, shape, and finish materials according to specifications.
Reading and Interpreting Drawings:
Understanding and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and job orders to determine material requirements and machining instructions.
Quality Control:
Inspecting finished parts for accuracy and quality, using measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Performing routine maintenance on the lathe machine, troubleshooting any issues that arise, and making necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation.
Safety:
Following safety procedures and maintaining a clean work area to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Documentation:
Recording production data, maintaining logs or reports, and communicating with other team members as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Skills: Knowledge of machining processes, lathe machine operation, and various tooling.
