Automation Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble, wire, and test electrical control panels according to approved drawings.

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, GA drawings, and wiring diagrams.

• Configure and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and SCADA systems.

• Perform factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT).

• Carry out installation, commissioning, and start-up of automation systems at customer sites.

• Diagnose and resolve electrical, instrumentation, and automation faults.

• Conduct I/O checks, loop checking, and functional testing.

• Prepare commissioning reports, test records, and technical documentation.

• Coordinate with design, production, project, and customer teams during project execution.

• Ensure compliance with electrical standards, safety regulations, and company procedures.

• Provide customer training and post-commissioning technical support when required.

• Required Skills

  • PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Delta, Schneider, Omron, or similar).

  • HMI and SCADA configuration.

  • VFD parameterization and commissioning.

  • Electrical control panel wiring and testing.

  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, etc.).

  • Ability to read electrical drawings and P&ID diagrams.

  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

  • Good communication, documentation, and customer-handling skills.

  • Willingness to travel for site commissioning across project locations.
