Assistant Production Manager

1. Production & Manufacturing Skills

• Knowledge of machine manufacturing processes (fabrication, machining, assembly)

• Understanding of BOM, drawings, and manufacturing plans

• Ability to plan and monitor daily / weekly production schedules

• Hands-on experience with shop floor operations

• Knowledge of cycle time, productivity, and capacity planning

• Familiarity with process flow and work instructions

2. Technical & Engineering Skills

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings (AutoCAD / SolidWorks basics)

• Understanding of shredder, conveyor, gearbox, motor, and transmission systems

• Knowledge of welding, fitting, machining, and assembly practices

• Basic understanding of electrical panels, motors, and drives

• Awareness of quality standards and tolerances

3. Quality Control & Inspection

• Experience in in-process and final inspection

• Knowledge of quality tools (checklists, inspection reports, NCR handling)

• Ability to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications

• Root cause analysis for production and quality issues

4. Planning & Coordination Skills

• Coordination with design, purchase, stores, and quality departments

• Vendor follow-up for job work and outsourced components

• Material planning and coordination with inventory/stores

• Ensuring on-time completion of production targets

5. Manpower & Shop Floor Management

• Supervision of technicians, welders, fitters, and helpers

• Allocation of manpower as per production priority

• Training and guidance of shop floor staff

• Monitoring discipline, productivity, and attendance

6. Safety & Compliance Skills

• Knowledge of industrial safety practices

• Ensuring use of PPE and safe working methods

• Awareness of machine safety standards

• Maintaining 5S and housekeeping on shop floor

7. Documentation & Reporting

• Preparing daily production reports (DPR)

• Maintaining job cards, production logs, and checklists

• Coordination through emails, calls, and meetings

• Basic knowledge of Excel and ERP systems

8. Problem-Solving & Decision Making

• Quick troubleshooting of production breakdowns

• Ability to manage urgent production requirements

• Decision-making under pressure

• Continuous improvement mindset

9. Communication & Leadership

• Clear communication with workers and management

• Ability to explain drawings and work instructions

• Team coordination and conflict handling

• Customer and site-coordination support (if required)
