1. Job Purpose
To supervise and control day-to-day cosmetic production activities, ensuring that products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and as per approved formulations, Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR), quality standards, GMP requirements, and production schedules.
2. Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily production activities for cosmetic and personal care products.
Plan and execute production according to the approved production schedule.
Ensure proper manufacturing and processing of creams, lotions, shampoos, gels, oils, serums, face washes, and other cosmetic products.
Ensure production is carried out strictly as per approved BMR, SOPs, formulations, and work instructions.
Monitor dispensing, weighing, mixing, homogenization, heating/cooling, filling, packing, and other manufacturing processes.
Allocate manpower and monitor employee performance on the production floor.
Ensure proper utilization of machines, equipment, raw materials, packaging materials, and manpower.
Coordinate with QA/QC, R&D, Stores, Maintenance, and Planning departments for smooth production.
Ensure line clearance before starting production and proper cleaning of equipment and production areas.
Maintain production records, batch records, logbooks, checklists, and other required documentation.
Monitor batch yield, production output, wastage, rejection, and process losses.
Identify production deviations, breakdowns, quality issues, and process abnormalities and report them to the concerned department.
Ensure proper handling, identification, and storage of raw materials, bulk products, and finished products.
Follow and enforce GMP, hygiene, safety, EHS, and company policies on the production floor.
Ensure workers use appropriate PPE and follow personal hygiene requirements.
Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of the production area.
Train and guide operators and production workers on SOPs, GMP, safety, and equipment operation.
Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive maintenance and breakdown-related issues.
Support investigations related to production deviations, batch failures, complaints, and non-conformities.
Ensure timely completion of production targets while maintaining required quality standards.
Minimize material wastage and improve production efficiency.
Ensure proper segregation and identification of rejected, approved, under-process, and finished materials.
Maintain discipline and proper work practices among production staff.
Prepare daily production reports and submit them to the Production Manager.
3. Quality & GMP Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with applicable GMP and cosmetic manufacturing requirements.
Follow approved SOPs, BMRs, specifications, and quality procedures.
Ensure no unauthorized changes are made to formulations or manufacturing processes.
Maintain proper batch traceability and documentation.
Immediately report any deviation, contamination risk, abnormality, or quality concern to QA/QC.
Ensure proper cleaning and sanitization of manufacturing equipment and areas.
Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
4. Required Qualifications
Diploma / B.Tech / B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, Production, or related field.
Relevant experience in cosmetics, personal care, pharmaceutical, FMCG, or chemical manufacturing will be preferred.
Good knowledge of cosmetic manufacturing processes and GMP.
Working knowledge of MS Excel and production documentation.
5. Experience
Preferred Experience: 3–7 years in production supervision, preferably in a cosmetics, personal care, pharmaceutical, or similar manufacturing environment.
