Assistant Manager

Primary Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the project manager to understand the scope, timeline, and specific requirements of PV solar projects. Assist in developing detailed project execution plans.

• Oversee site assessments and preparations to ensure they are suitable for PV solar installations. This may involve surveying, grading, and clearing as required.

• Direct and supervise the installation teams during the mounting of solar panels, inverters, mounting structures, and other components. Ensure adherence to design specifications and industry standards.

• Implement and enforce quality control procedures to guarantee the high-quality installation of PV solar systems. Conduct inspections and tests to verify compliance with project standards.

• Prioritize safety throughout the project execution. Develop and enforce safety protocols and guidelines to protect workers and mitigate potential hazards associated with solar installations.

• Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors involved in the construction process. Ensure that they meet project requirements and deliverables within agreed-upon timelines.

• Provide technical expertise and support to the installation teams in diagnosing and resolving issues that may arise during the installation process.

• Maintain accurate records of all installation activities, including progress reports, test results, and any modifications made during the project.

• Facilitate effective communication with project managers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns that may arise during execution.

• Coordinate with commissioning teams to ensure the successful testing and startup of the PV solar systems after installation.

• Ability to use project management tools like primavera, smart sheets, Microsoft project

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 8-12 years of experience in the renewable sector. Relevant certifications in solar energy installation and project management are beneficial. 500MW+ solar site experience is a big plus.

• Proven experience in overseeing the execution of PV solar projects, preferably in a supervisory role.

• In-depth knowledge of PV solar systems, installation techniques, and relevant electrical codes and regulations.

• Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and lead installation teams.
