Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Assembly Fitter to assemble, fit, and test mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and machines as per engineering drawings and production requirements. The candidate should have hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, use of hand tools, measuring instruments, and reading technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and finished products according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
Perform fitting, drilling, tapping, grinding, and alignment activities during machine assembly.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly layouts, and bill of materials (BOM).
Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments accurately.
Ensure proper alignment and fitment of components during assembly.
Conduct functional testing and inspection of assembled equipment.
Identify and report defects, shortages, and assembly issues to the supervisor.
Maintain production records and assembly documentation.
Follow quality standards, safety procedures, and company policies.
Coordinate with stores, quality, and engineering departments for smooth production activities.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
Required Skills
Knowledge of mechanical assembly and fitting practices.
Ability to read engineering and assembly drawings.
Hands-on experience with hand tools and power tools.
Knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, and Dial Indicator.
Understanding of mechanical components such as bearings, shafts, couplings, gearboxes, pneumatic components, and linear guideways.
Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Good teamwork and communication skills.

ITI (Fitter) / Turner / Mechanic
OR
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
