Assembly Fitter

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Assembly Fitter to assemble, fit, and test mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and machines as per engineering drawings and production requirements. The candidate should have hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, use of hand tools, measuring instruments, and reading technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and finished products according to engineering drawings and work instructions.

• Perform fitting, drilling, tapping, grinding, and alignment activities during machine assembly.

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly layouts, and bill of materials (BOM).

• Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments accurately.

• Ensure proper alignment and fitment of components during assembly.

• Conduct functional testing and inspection of assembled equipment.

• Identify and report defects, shortages, and assembly issues to the supervisor.

• Maintain production records and assembly documentation.

• Follow quality standards, safety procedures, and company policies.

• Coordinate with stores, quality, and engineering departments for smooth production activities.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of mechanical assembly and fitting practices.

• Ability to read engineering and assembly drawings.

• Hands-on experience with hand tools and power tools.

• Knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, and Dial Indicator.

• Understanding of mechanical components such as bearings, shafts, couplings, gearboxes, pneumatic components, and linear guideways.

• Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Good teamwork and communication skills.

Educational Qualification

• ITI (Fitter) / Turner / Mechanic
  OR

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

• It is a Full Time Manufacturing job for candidates with 1 - 6+ years Experience.
