Legal Associate

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Associate to support our lending operations, documentation processes, and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in the finance/lending sector and be comfortable handling property-related documents, loan agreements, and legal coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and vet loan agreements, sanction letters, MoUs, term sheets, and related documents.

• Conduct legal due-diligence on borrowers, guarantors, and collateral properties.

• Handle property document verification, title checks, and coordinate with external advocates for legal opinions.

• Ensure compliance with RBI, company law, and other regulatory requirements relevant to lending.

• Manage execution and safe custody of all legal documents and maintain proper records.

• Support the internal recovery team with notices, settlements, NOCs, and follow-up actions when required.

• Liaise with clients, external lawyers, and internal teams to ensure smooth processing of legal documentation.

• Monitor renewal, expiry, and validity timelines of agreements.

Requirements

Education

• LLB is mandatory; LLM preferred.

• Enrollment with Bar Council is an added advantage.

Experience

• 2–4 years of experience in legal work, preferably with a lending institution, NBFC, or law firm handling finance matters.

• Strong understanding of contract law, civil law, and property-related law.

Skills

• Excellent drafting and vetting skills.

• Strong knowledge in property verification, search reports, and due-diligence.

• Ability to interpret and explain legal concepts clearly.

• Strong coordination, negotiation, and communication skills.

• High attention to detail and professionalism.
