Job Summary:

The In-House Advocate will manage a broad range of legal matters including property disputes, contract issues, family-related legal matters, society matters, and civil litigation. The role includes drafting legal documents, representing the company in court, police stations, and during negotiations, and advising on statutory compliance with civil laws. The candidate must have strong knowledge of CPC, CrPC, BNSS, and property law, with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Litigation & Representation

• Handle legal cases related to property disputes, contract matters, and family matters.

• Represent the company/clients before civil courts, quasi-judicial authorities, and police stations.

• Manage and supervise ongoing litigation, including filing cases, preparing briefs, and attending hearings.

• Coordinate with external lawyers whenever required and ensure timely follow-up on all legal matters.

2. Drafting & Documentation

• Draft and review legal documents, including plaints, written statements, agreements, notices, affidavits, MoUs, contracts, and petitions.

• Prepare replies to legal notices, vet agreements, and ensure accuracy and legal compliance of all documents.

3. Legal Advisory

• Provide counsel on compliance with civil laws, property laws, and other applicable regulations.

• Advise internal departments on legal risks, dispute resolution, and preventive legal strategies.

• Guide the company/clients on society matters, internal disputes, and regulatory obligations.

4. Property & Society Matters

• Handle all property-related legal work, including title verification, drafting sale agreements, lease agreements, and property documentation.

• Manage disputes related to housing societies, co-operative societies, and community property issues.

5. Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with CPC, CrPC, BNSS, property law, family law, and other applicable regulations.

• Identify legal risks and propose effective mitigation measures.

• Maintain proper documentation, legal records, litigation status reports, and compliance registers.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B.); LL.M. preferred but not mandatory.

• Minimum 4 years of experience in litigation and legal advisory.

• Strong knowledge of CPC, CrPC, BNSS, Contract Law, Property Law, and Civil Laws.

• Ability to represent matters before courts, tribunals, authorities, and police stations.

• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

• Strong analytical abilities and practical understanding of legal processes.

• Ability to work independently, handle pressure, and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
