Job Description- Associate Advocate – Tax Litigation

Key Responsibilities

 Analyze notices and orders, prepare chronologies and identify legal and procedural issues.

 Research relevant provisions, notifications, circulars and judgments for the applicable period.

 Draft replies, grounds of appeal, written submissions and supporting applications under supervision.

 Prepare indexed evidence, hearing briefs and authorities; coordinate with external counsel.

 Calculate and monitor litigation deadlines, obtaining independent verification by the Principal or another advocate.

 Assist with authorized filings and eligible appearances, preserving proof of filing.

 Record hearing directions and prepare clear status updates and next actions.

Required Qualifications

 LL.B. degree.

 Enrolment and eligibility to practice for assigned appearances must be verified, as applicable.

 Preferred experience of 1–3 years in actual tax drafting or proceedings.

Required Skills

 Strong English legal drafting and written communication skills.

 Ability to verify legal sources and carefully analyze notices, orders and documents.

 Good research, reading and analytical skills.

 Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive legal documents responsibly.

 Working knowledge of MS Word and PDF tools.

 Strong attention to detail and deadline management.
