Job Description

A General Metal Worker is responsible for fabricating, assembling, repairing, and maintaining metal components and structures using a variety of tools, machinery, and welding or cutting equipment. They interpret technical drawings, ensure work meets quality standards, and follow workplace health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal products, structures, and equipment.
Measure, cut, bend, shape, and finish metal materials according to specifications.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and metalworking machinery safely and efficiently.
Perform welding, grinding, drilling, and cutting tasks as required.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and dimensional standards.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
Identify and report equipment faults or material defects.
Follow workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet production deadlines.
