The Institute Warden is responsible for the overall administration, discipline, and welfare of students residing in the hostels. The Warden ensures a safe, secure, and healthy environment conducive to learning and personal development. The role involves managing hostel operations, maintaining order, and serving as a mentor and guide to students.
Supervise the daily functioning of the hostel and residential facilities.
Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in and around the hostel premises.
Coordinate with housekeeping, security, and maintenance teams for smooth hostel operations.
Monitor food quality and hygiene standards in the mess or dining area.
Ensure strict adherence to hostel rules and regulations.
Address complaints, grievances, and conflicts among residents in a fair and timely manner.
Monitor students’ behavior and counsel students when required.
Report serious disciplinary or health matters to higher authorities.
Maintain accurate records of hostel occupancy, leave, visitor logs, and emergency contacts.
Conduct regular hostel inspections and submit reports.
Assist in the allotment of hostel rooms and ensure compliance with allocation policies.
Coordinate with parents/guardians when needed.
Ensure hostel safety measures are in place, including fire safety, medical aid, and emergency preparedness.
Take immediate action in case of medical or other emergencies, and escalate to appropriate authorities.
Act as a liaison between hostel residents and the institution’s administrative office.
Submit periodic reports on hostel issues, maintenance needs, and student welfare.
Bachelor's degree (essential); Master’s degree or qualifications in student affairs/administration preferred.
Previous experience in hostel management, student welfare, or administration is highly desirable.
Knowledge of safety protocols, conflict resolution, and student counseling.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to manage conflicts and crises.
Good organizational and record-keeping abilities.
Leadership, empathy, and firmness in enforcing rules.
Working knowledge of MS Office and record management tools.
Should be willing to reside on campus (residential position).
Available to respond to emergencies on a 24x7 basis.
