Job Description – Female Head Warden (Girls’ Hostel)

Position: Female Head Warden – Girls’ Hostel

Department: Location: Burhanpur Girls Hostel

Reports to: Employment Type: Hostel Superintendent / Principal Full-time

Role Overview

The Female Head Warden for the Girls’ Hostel will be responsible for ensuring the safety, discipline, well-being, and overall development of hostel residents. The role requires a

compassionate, responsible, and organized individual who can manage hostel operations, support students’ emotional and academic needs, and create a secure and nurturing

environment.

Key Responsibilities (KRAs):

1. Safety & Security Management

Ensure the safety and security of all hostel residents through regular monitoring.

Implement security protocols, maintain visitor logs, and supervise entry/exit

procedures.

Conduct regular safety drills and coordinate with emergency services when required.

2. Discipline & Code of Conduct

Enforce hostel rules and policies in a fair and consistent manner.

Counsel students in case of conflicts or breaches of discipline.

Conduct regular meetings with hostel residents to reinforce behavioural expectations.

3. Welfare & Well-being

Provide emotional support, guidance, and counselling to students.

Monitor health issues and coordinate with medical staff or local healthcare providers.

Promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being through structured activities.

4. Daily Operations & Administration

Oversee hostel maintenance, cleanliness, and infrastructure upkeep.

Manage attendance records, mess schedules, and inventory of supplies.

Prepare reports related to hostel activities, incidents, and student welfare.5. Mentorship & Development

Act as a mentor and role model for students, encouraging academic and personal growth.

Organize workshops, seminars, and recreational activities.

Liaise with parents/guardians as needed and provide updates on student progress.

6. Emergency Response & Crisis Management

Respond to medical emergencies, emotional distress, or unforeseen incidents swiftly and appropriately.

Maintain emergency contact lists and ensure readiness to handle crises.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Safety & Security

Number of safety drills conducted annually.

Incident reports handled within a stipulated time frame.

Hostel compliance with safety protocols.

Discipline & Code of Conduct

Reduction in disciplinary incidents.

Resident satisfaction scores on hostel living conditions.

Timely resolution of complaints and conflicts.

Welfare & Well-being

Number of counseling sessions conducted.

Medical incidents addressed effectively.

Participation rate in wellness activities.

Administration & Operations

Hostel maintenance reports completed on schedule.

Inventory accuracy and efficient mess management.

Timely submission of reports to authorities.

Student Development

Number of extracurricular or developmental programs organized.

Positive feedback from students and parents.Required Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related field preferred.

Prior experience in hostel management, student counselling, or residential care is

desirable (2–3 years).

Knowledge of student welfare, adolescent psychology, and safety protocols.

Certification in first aid or emergency response is a plus.
