Position: Pressman / Ironing Operator
Location: As per company requirement
Department: Laundry Operations

Key Responsibilities:

• Ironing and pressing garments and linens as per standards

• Sorting clothes by fabric & category before pressing

• Using steam press / hand press / vacuum table

• Maintaining quality & finish of garments

• Handling delicate & expensive fabrics carefully

• Daily production targets & timely order completion

• Reporting damaged items or discrepancies

• Maintaining cleanliness of pressing area

• Coordinating with Washerman, Supervisor & Dispatch team

Requirements:

• Min. 1–2 yrs experience in pressing/finishing (preferred)

• Knowledge of fabrics (cotton, wool, linen, silk, synthetics, etc.)

• Ability to work under time pressure

• Physically fit & disciplined

• Basic understanding of hygiene & safety

Job Title: Pressman / Garment Finisher

Reports To: Laundry Supervisor / Plant Manager

Job Summary:
The Pressman is responsible for pressing, finishing, and ironing garments and linen to company quality standards and ensuring timely delivery of processed items.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Sort and categorize garments by type, fabric, and finishing requirement

• Operate steam press, vacuum press, hand iron, or finishing equipment

• Ensure garments are wrinkle-free and finished as per customer standards

• Inspect garments before and after pressing for stains, damages or repair requirements

• Follow fabric care labels and finishing instructions

• Maintain production targets without compromising quality

• Assist in packing and dispatch when required

• Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform minor maintenance

• Ensure workplace hygiene and safety protocols

• Coordinate with Washerman, Spotter & Supervisor for workflow management

Skills & Competencies:

• Knowledge of different fabrics & ironing techniques

• Attention to detail and finishing standards

• Hand-eye coordination and time management

• Customer-oriented and quality-focused

• Basic communication skills

Experience (Preferred):

• 1–3 years in laundry, garment finishing, hospitality, or retail pressing operations

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long hours

• Ability to handle heat & steam environments

• Moderate lifting (linen bundles, garment racks, etc.)

• It is a Full Time Labour/Helper job for candidates with 6 months - 1 years of experience.
