Key Responsibilities
1. Packaging Design & Standardization
Develop and implement standardized packaging specifications for various IT and electronic products such as laptops, desktops, networking equipment, peripherals, and accessories.
Design packaging solutions considering product fragility, weight, stacking requirements, and transportation modes (air, surface, courier, or export shipments).
Evaluate and recommend suitable packaging materials including corrugated boxes, cushioning materials (EPE, foam, bubble wrap), edge protectors, pallets, and protective films.
Ensure packaging designs comply with industry standards and customer packaging requirements.
2. Packaging Testing & Improvement
Conduct packaging trials, drop tests, and vibration tests to ensure packaging integrity during transit.
Identify opportunities to optimize packaging materials and reduce cost without compromising product safety.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce transit damages, returns, and replacement costs.
Work with packaging vendors to improve packaging design and material quality.
3. Warehouse Packaging Operations
Coordinate with warehouse operations, dispatch, and transport teams to ensure adherence to packaging standards.
Monitor packaging processes during picking, packing, and dispatch stages to ensure compliance with SOPs.
Ensure correct labeling, barcoding, and documentation on all outgoing shipments.
Support the operations team in handling special packing requirements for high-value or fragile products.
4. Training & SOP Implementation
Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for packaging and handling of products.
Train warehouse staff and packers on correct packing methods, cushioning techniques, and product handling procedures.
Conduct regular training sessions and audits to maintain packaging quality standards.
5. Damage Analysis & Quality Control
Review and analyze transit damage reports, customer complaints, and return cases related to packaging.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for damage incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Work closely with logistics partners and transporters to improve handling and transportation practices.
6. Vendor & Material Management
Coordinate with packaging material suppliers for sourcing suitable materials and ensuring quality standards.
Evaluate new packaging materials and technologies to improve efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Monitor inventory levels of packaging materials and ensure availability for warehouse operations.
7. Compliance & Documentation
Maintain documentation for packaging specifications, packaging test reports, SOPs, and quality audits.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards related to packaging.
Support internal and external audits related to packaging processes.

Qualification
Diploma / Degree in Packaging Technology / Packaging Engineering / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering
Certification from Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) preferred
Experience
3–6 years of experience in packaging design or packaging operations
Preferably in electronics, IT products, consumer electronics, or e-commerce logistics
Skills Required
Knowledge of corrugated packaging, cushioning materials, and protective packaging solutions
Understanding of packaging testing methods (drop test, vibration test, compression test)
Familiarity with barcode labeling, product labeling standards, and shipping documentation
Ability to coordinate with warehouse operations and logistics teams
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience
Experience in packaging for IT products, fragile goods, or high-value electronics
Knowledge of export packaging standards and courier shipping requirements
Exposure to WMS-driven warehouse operations
