Job Summary
A Ward Helper assists nurses and other healthcare professionals in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients. They support non-clinical patient care, transport patients and supplies, and help ensure the smooth functioning of the hospital ward.
Key Responsibilities
Assist patients with moving, walking, and using wheelchairs or stretchers.
Help patients with basic hygiene, feeding, and comfort under nurse supervision.
Transport patients to diagnostic tests, operation theatres, or other departments.
Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms, beds, and ward areas.
Change bed linens and assist in preparing patient beds.
Carry medical supplies, equipment, specimens, and documents between departments.
Dispose of biomedical waste according to hospital protocols.
Replenish ward supplies and report shortages.
Support nurses during patient transfers and emergencies.
Follow infection control, safety, and hospital policies at all times.
