The X-Ray Technician is responsible for performing high-quality radiographic examinations for diagnostic purposes. The role requires technical expertise, patient care skills, attention to safety protocols, and accurate documentation.
Perform X-rays as per doctors’ requisitions.
Ensure correct patient positioning to obtain clear and accurate images.
Operate digital X-ray machines, CR/DR systems, and related radiology equipment.
Explain procedures to patients and ensure comfort and safety.
Maintain patient confidentiality and dignity during imaging procedures.
Provide support to patients with mobility challenges.
Follow all radiation safety guidelines (ALARA principle).
Ensure protective equipment (lead apron, thyroid shield) is used properly.
Monitor and maintain safe radiation exposure levels.
Maintain accurate records of imaging performed.
Upload images to hospital systems (PACS/RIS).
Assist radiologist or consultant doctors with required imaging information.
Perform daily checks of X-ray machine functionality.
Report malfunctions to the biomedical/technical team immediately.
Ensure cleanliness and calibration of radiology equipment.
Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and emergency teams.
Manage workflow during OPD, IPD, and emergency cases.
Assist in other radiology tasks when needed (portable X-rays, OT support).
Diploma / Degree in X-Ray Technology or Radiology.
Experience: 0–3 years (Hospital experience preferred).
Knowledge of digital radiography, radiation safety, and imaging protocols.
Good communication skills and patient handling ability.
Ability to work in rotational shifts.
As per hospital shift policy.
Reports to: Radiologist / Radiology Incharge / Hospital Administration.
