Key Responsibilities & Duties

Specimen Collection: Perform venipuncture, fingersticks, and heel sticks to collect blood samples.
Patient Interaction: Verify patient identity, explain procedures, and calm patients who are anxious or scared.
Sample Management:
Properly label, process, and transport blood samples (and other specimens like urine) to the laboratory
.
Equipment Maintenance: Keep work areas, instruments, and equipment clean, sterilized, and well-organized.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere to strict safety, health, and hygiene protocols to prevent infection.
Documentation: Record patient information, maintain electronic health records (EHR), and manage inventory of supplies.
