Job Title: Blood Collection Technician / Phlebotomist

Job Responsibilities:

Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures safely and accurately
Verify patient identity and test requisition details before sample collection
Explain blood collection procedures to patients and address their concerns politely
Ensure proper labeling of blood samples with patient details and test information
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and infection control protocols
Maintain hygiene, use sterile equipment, and follow biomedical waste disposal rules
Handle, store, and transport blood samples under prescribed conditions
Record patient and sample details accurately in registers or laboratory systems
Assist in maintaining inventory of collection supplies and equipment
Report any adverse reactions or complications during blood collection to the supervisor
Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times
Support lab staff with additional duties as required

Required Skills & Qualities:

Knowledge of phlebotomy techniques
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to handle patients with care and empathy
Basic knowledge of lab safety and hygiene standards
