Job Summary:
Responsible for collecting blood and other samples from patients accurately, safely, and efficiently, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and documentation as per laboratory protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect blood, urine, and other samples from patients following standard safety and hygiene procedures.
Verify patient details and ensure correct labeling of all samples.
Maintain sample collection records and update the system/database as required.
Handle sample storage and transportation to the laboratory in proper condition.
Prepare, sterilize, and maintain phlebotomy equipment and workspace.
Follow infection control and biohazard safety guidelines strictly.
Provide courteous and professional interaction with patients to ensure comfort and trust.
Coordinate with laboratory staff for timely processing of samples.
Maintain adequate stock of phlebotomy supplies.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Centre Head or Lab In-charge.
Qualifications & Skills:
DMLT / CMLT or equivalent qualification.
Prior experience in phlebotomy preferred (minimum 1–2 years).
Good knowledge of sample collection procedures and safety norms.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and ability to work under minimal supervision.
