Pharmacist

Position: Pharmacist

Department: Drug Store / Pharmacy

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense medicines accurately against prescriptions in compliance with legal and medical guidelines.

• Provide guidance to patients/customers on dosage, side effects, interactions, and storage of medicines.

• Maintain up-to-date records of prescriptions, sales, and inventory as per Drug & Cosmetic Act norms.

• Ensure proper storage conditions for medicines, vaccines, and controlled drugs.

• Check and manage expiry, returns, and stock replenishment in coordination with store staff.

• Assist in audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance (Drug Inspector/FDA).

• Promote safe and rational use of medicines and escalate prescription errors if identified.

• Train/support store staff on pharma product handling.

• Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all pharmacy operations.

Requirements

• Educational Qualification:

  • Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm) or Bachelor’s in Pharmacy (B. Pharm).

• License: Valid State Pharmacy Council registration (mandatory).

• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a retail/hospital/wholesale pharmacy.

• Knowledge of drug interactions, side effects, and dosage.

• Familiarity with inventory/billing software (advantage).

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
