Pharmacist

Key Responsibilities:

1. Dispensing & Prescription Management

   • Accurately dispense prescribed medications to patients.

   • Ensure proper dosage, form, and quantity as per doctor’s prescription.

   • Check prescriptions for errors or potential drug interactions.

2. Inventory & Stock Management

   • Maintain stock levels of medicines and medical supplies.

   • Conduct daily/weekly stock audits and manage expiry control.

   • Place medicine indents with suppliers or central stores on time.

3. Patient Counseling

   • Educate patients on the correct use of medications.

   • Provide guidance on dosage, side effects, and storage instructions.

4. Regulatory & Documentation

   • Maintain purchase and sales records as per Drug Control norms.

   • Ensure all narcotic and restricted drugs are recorded as per law.

   • Support internal and external pharmacy audits.

5. Coordination

   • Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other staff for smooth pharmacy operations.

   • Assist the billing team in ensuring proper medicine charge entries.

6. Compliance & Safety

   • Ensure compliance with Drug and Cosmetic Act regulations.

   • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and hygiene in the pharmacy.

   • Follow hospital policies and ethical standards at all times.

• Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, dosage forms, and interactions.

• Accuracy and attention to detail.

• Good communication and patient-handling skills.

• Inventory management and record-keeping skills.

• Teamwork and time management abilities.

Qualifications:

• Educational: D.Pharm / B.Pharm (Registered with State Pharmacy Council).

• Experience: Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy (freshers may also apply).

• License: Valid Pharmacist Registration Certificate.
