Lab Technician

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Development

• Develop new formulations for pharmaceutical and cosmetic products (creams, gels, lotions, serums, tablets, capsules, liquids, etc.).

• Improve existing formulations for better stability, efficacy, and cost optimization.

• Conduct literature reviews to support new product ideas and feasibility studies.

• Prepare lab-scale batches and conduct pilot trials.

2. Testing & Analysis

• Perform stability studies as per ICH guidelines.

• Conduct physical, chemical, and performance testing on formulations.

• Maintain detailed documentation of experimental results.

• Support quality control team during product analysis if required.

3. Regulatory & Documentation

• Prepare product development reports (PDRs), batch manufacturing records (BMR/BPR).

• Ensure formulations comply with regulatory requirements (FDA, WHO, GMP, Cosmetic Rules, etc.).

• Co-ordinate with regulatory team for product dossier preparation.

4. Process Transfer & Production Support

• Assist in scaling up formulations from lab to production.

• Provide technical support to production during trial batches and commercial batches.

• Troubleshoot formulation and process-related issues.

5. Vendor & Raw Material Management

• Evaluate new raw materials and coordinate with vendors for samples and specifications.

• Ensure material compatibility and create specifications with QC team.

6. Innovation & Market Research

• Study market trends and competitor products for innovation.

• Recommend new concepts, ingredients, and formulations aligned with current trends.

Key Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of pharma/cosmetic formulation techniques.

• Understanding of GMP, GLP, and regulatory guidelines.

• Proficiency in stability testing and documentation.

• Problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Ability to work independently and in a team.

• MS Office proficiency.

Qualification:

• B.Pharm / M.Pharm / M.Sc. (Chemistry / Cosmetic Science)

• 1–5 years of experience in Pharmaceutical or Cosmetic R&D (as per requirement).
