Lab Chemist

Key Responsibilities

• Experiment Support:

  Assist senior chemists and scientists by setting up experiments, preparing reagents and solutions, and performing basic laboratory procedures. 

• Equipment Maintenance:

  Clean, sterilize, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on lab equipment and instruments. 

• Inventory Management:

  Manage the stock of laboratory supplies and chemicals, and order replacements as needed. 

• Data Recording:

  Accurately document and record experimental data, results, and other findings. 

• Safety & Compliance:

  Follow all safety protocols and regulations, and ensure the proper disposal of chemical waste. 

• Laboratory Maintenance:

  Maintain cleanliness and organization within the laboratory environment. 

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Attention to Detail: Crucial for accuracy in experiments, data recording, and equipment maintenance. 

• Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with team members and senior staff. 

• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures. 

• Organizational Skills: To manage supplies, maintain a clean work area, and keep accurate records. 

• Understanding of Safety: Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures, regulations, and handling of hazardous materials. 

• Education: Typically a high school diploma or associate's degree, though some roles may require a bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related field.
