Lab Chemist

Position: Mechanical & Chemical Lab Engineer
Experience: Minimum 2 years
Location: [Surat, Rajkot]
Department: Quality / R&D / Testing Laboratory

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform mechanical and chemical testing on materials and components as per industry standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO).

• Operate and maintain lab instruments such as UTM (Universal Testing Machine), Hardness Tester, Impact Tester, and chemical analyzers (pH meter, titration units, etc.).

• Prepare and analyze samples for chemical composition, corrosion resistance, tensile strength, hardness, and other physical properties.

• Document test procedures, observations, and results accurately in technical reports and lab records.

• Collaborate with the R&D, Production, and Quality Control teams to support product development and validation.

• Ensure lab activities are conducted under safe and standardized protocols (SOPs, MSDS, etc.).

• Assist in the calibration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of lab equipment.

• Contribute to root cause analysis and corrective action implementation in case of quality failures.

• Follow internal quality systems such as ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, or equivalent standards.

🧪 Key Skills & Tools:

• Mechanical Testing (Tensile, Compression, Hardness, Impact)

• Chemical Analysis (Titration, Spectroscopy, Corrosion Testing)

• Familiar with ASTM, ISO, BIS standards

• Lab Safety, MSDS Handling

• Basic knowledge of CAD (AutoCAD/SolidWorks) is a plus

• Data Analysis & Reporting (MS Excel, Word)

• Strong analytical and observational skills

🎓 Qualifications:

• Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on lab experience in a manufacturing or testing environment
