Chemist - Quality Control

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Formulation & Development:
  Develop and modify paint formulations (water-based, solvent-based, emulsions, primers, etc.) as per company and client requirements.

• Quality Control (QC):
  Conduct raw material and finished product testing (viscosity, pH, density, gloss, adhesion, drying time, etc.) to ensure products meet quality standards.

• Research & Testing:
  Test new raw materials and additives; maintain detailed lab reports on experiments and trials.

• Production Support:
  Collaborate with the production team to scale lab formulations to plant level and resolve formulation or quality-related issues during production.

• Documentation & Compliance:
  Maintain documentation for formulations, test reports, batch records, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets), and ensure compliance with industry safety and environmental standards.

• Problem Solving:
  Troubleshoot customer complaints and suggest corrective and preventive actions for paint defects like flaking, blistering, or color mismatches.

• Inventory & Procurement Coordination:
  Assist in evaluating and approving raw material suppliers and coordinating with the purchase team for specifications.
