We are seeking a talented and proactive WordPress Developer to take ownership of our WordPress-based websites and digital platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for both front-end presentation and back-end development, including the implementation of custom themes, plugin architecture, and site integrations.
The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the WordPress ecosystem, follows modern PHP and JavaScript guidelines, and knows how to build clean, fast, and scalable web experiences without relying entirely on bloated, pre-made themes.
Objectives of This Role
Custom Development: Build custom, lightweight WordPress themes and plugins from scratch tailored to specific business and design requirements.
Ensure Peak Performance: Optimize site architecture for maximum loading speed, core web vitals, and seamless mobile responsiveness.
Maintain Site Integrity: Manage platform security, uptime, backup strategies, and database health to prevent vulnerabilities or data loss.
Empower Content Creators: Configure clean, intuitive back-end editing experiences (such as custom Gutenberg blocks or structured fields) for non-technical team members.
Core Responsibilities
Design and implement front-end user interfaces using responsive HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and JavaScript that match design wireframes.
Develop, test, and deploy custom WordPress plugins and themes to extend core functionality.
Manage complex third-party integrations, including payment gateways, CRM syncing, marketing automation tools, and REST APIs.
Conduct website performance audits to troubleshoot slow load times, optimizing caching, asset delivery, and database queries.
Oversee regular maintenance updates for WordPress core, parent themes, and active plugins, ensuring zero downtime during deployment.
Collaborate with SEO teams to implement technical schema, semantic markup, and proper URL architectures.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
