# MERN Stack Developer (Full Stack)

# About the Role

We're looking for a MERN Stack Developer to join our engineering team. You'll work across the full stack from database schema to UI building and maintaining web applications using MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js. You'll own features end-to-end, from design through deployment.

# Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain web applications using the MERN stack

- Build reusable, well-structured React components and manage application state

- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.js

- Design and optimize MongoDB schemas and queries

- Integrate frontend and backend systems, ensuring smooth data flow

- Write clean, tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviews

- Debug and resolve issues across the stack UI, server logic, and database

- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to scope and ship features

- Ensure application performance, security, and responsiveness across devices

- Participate in deployment and CI/CD processes

# Requirements

Frontend

- Strong proficiency in React hooks, component architecture, state management (Redux or Context API)

- Solid grasp of HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+)

- Experience with responsive design and CSS frameworks (Tailwind, Bootstrap, or styled-components)

Backend

- Proficiency in Node.js and Express.js building and structuring RESTful APIs

- Experience with middleware, error handling, and authentication (JWT, OAuth, or session-based)

Database

- Strong experience with MongoDB schema design (Mongoose), aggregation pipelines, indexing

- Understanding of NoSQL data modeling tradeoffs

General

- Git version control and collaborative workflows (PRs, code review)

- Asynchronous JavaScript and API integration

- Basic testing experience (Jest, Mocha, or React Testing Library)

- Familiarity with deployment platforms (Heroku, AWS, Vercel, or similar)

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

# Nice to Have

- TypeScript experience

- Docker familiarity

- CI/CD pipeline exposure

- GraphQL experience

- Experience with Agile/Scrum workflows

# Qualifications

- 2+ years of experience in full stack web development

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience

- Strong portfolio or GitHub profile demonstrating MERN projects
