Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain a SQL Server environment hosting multiple client databases
Perform daily restore validation to ensure backup integrity and disaster recovery readiness
Run and monitor DBCC integrity checks across databases on a scheduled basis
Configure, automate, and maintain SQL Server Agent jobs for routine database operations
Develop and maintain data-masking procedures for non-production/test environments to ensure data security and compliance
Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning, index optimization, and execution plan analysis
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, blocking, and deadlocks proactively
Maintain backup and recovery strategy in line with business continuity requirements
Maintain database security including login/user/role management and access controls
Collaborate with development teams on database design, T-SQL scripting, and performance tuning
Document database processes, incidents, and standard operating procedures
Provide support for production issues, including on-call troubleshooting as required
Required Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022)
Proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and dynamic SQL
Strong understanding of query optimization, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis
Experience with SQL Server Agent job scheduling and automation
Solid understanding of backup/restore strategies, and database integrity validation
Familiarity with data masking/data security practices for compliance-sensitive environments
Knowledge of SQL Server security model (logins, users, roles, permissions)
Experience troubleshooting blocking, deadlocks, and performance bottlenecks
Working knowledge of high availability/disaster recovery concepts.
