Data Analyst / Business Analyst Intern

Required Qualifications & Skills :

• 2–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst (IT, fintech, banking, or product teams preferred).

• Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, Engineering, Finance, or related field.

Key Responsibilities :

• Gather and document business requirements from stakeholders through interviews, workshops, and process walkthroughs.

• Analyze current processes, data, and systems to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.

• Create clear artifacts: user stories, process flows, wireframes, requirement documents (BRD/FRD), and test cases.

• Use Excel extensively for data cleaning, analysis, PivotTables, dashboards, and ad-hoc reporting to support decision-making.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, QA, and operations teams to ensure requirements are understood and implemented correctly.

• Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing), triage defects, and track issue resolution. • Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and deliverables; ensure alignment with business goals.

• Prepare regular status reports, KPIs, and insights for leadership using Excel and other reporting tools.

• Advanced Excel skills (must-have):

o Data cleaning, sorting, filtering, and validation.

o Formulas: IF, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, INDEX-MATCH / XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP.

o PivotTables, Pivot Charts, slicers, and dynamic dashboards.

o Conditional formatting, charts/graphs for visualization.

o Power Query (data transformation) and basic macros/VBA (nice to have).

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication skills to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Familiarity with tools like Jira/Confluence, SQL (basic), and a BI tool (Power BI/Tableau) is a plus.

• Build structured workbooks and maintain data integrity using data validation and named ranges.

• Use lookup functions (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH) to join and analyze datasets.

• Create and maintain PivotTables for quick summarization and trend analysis.

• Design clear dashboards with charts, slicers, and conditional formatting for stakeholder reviews.

• Perform scenario analysis and basic what-if modeling where needed.
