Position: Level 2 SQL Server Database Administrator
Payroll:ITAM Advisory Services Pvt Ltd
Work Location:Initially Vile Parle and later Andheri(WFO)
Must be ok for Anywhere in Mumbai,Navi Mumbai,Thane
Monday to Saturday working.
Responsibilities:
1. Database Administration:
o Manage and administer SQL Server instances and databases.
o Perform database installation, configuration, and upgrades.
o Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures.
o Monitor database performance and optimize queries for efficiency.
o Must have hand on experience on ALWAYS ON
2. Backup and Recovery:
o Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
o Schedule and execute database backups and restores.
o Perform regular backup testing and verification.
3. Performance Tuning:
o Analyze database performance metrics and identify optimization opportunities.
o Implement performance tuning techniques to improve database efficiency.
o Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues proactively.
4. High Availability and Disaster Recovery:
o Configure and maintain high availability solutions (e.g., AlwaysOn Availability Groups, database mirroring).
o Implement disaster recovery plans and failover procedures.
o Test and validate high availability and disaster recovery solutions regularly.
5. Monitoring and Alerting:
o Set up monitoring tools and alerts for system health and performance.
o Monitor system and database logs for errors and anomalies.
o Respond to and resolve alerts in a timely manner.
6. Security and Compliance:
o Ensure databases comply with security standards and regulations.
o Manage database users, roles, and permissions.
o Perform security audits and implement security best practices.
7. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
o Maintain up-to-date documentation for databases, configurations, and procedures.
o Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions for common issues.
o Share knowledge and best practices with other team members.
8. Incident Management and Support:
o Respond to and resolve database-related incidents and outages.
o Troubleshoot and diagnose database issues effectively.
o Provide on-call support as part of a rotation schedule.
· Strong knowledge of SQL Server database administration and performance tuning.
· Experience with SQL Server high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
· Proficiency in T-SQL scripting and query optimization.
· Familiarity with database security principles and best practices.
· Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
