Technical Assistant

Core Responsibilities

• Installation:

  Setting up and mounting CCTV cameras, running cables, and connecting power sources and recording devices like DVRs or NVRs. 

• Maintenance & Repair:

  Performing regular inspections, troubleshooting system issues, and repairing faulty equipment to ensure optimal performance. 

• Site Surveys:

  Conducting site assessments to determine security needs and plan appropriate system layouts. 

• Monitoring & Incident Response:

  For operators, this involves constantly monitoring live camera feeds, detecting suspicious activity, and alerting appropriate authorities. 

• Technical Support & Training:

  Providing support and guidance to end-users on how to operate the CCTV systems. 

• Documentation:

  Recording system configurations, maintenance activities, incident logs, and service records. 

• Compliance:

  Ensuring installations and operations adhere to safety protocols and industry standards. 

• System Upgrades:

  Keeping abreast of the latest trends and technologies in video surveillance to recommend and implement system updates. 

Key Qualifications & Skills

• Technical Knowledge:

  A strong understanding of video surveillance systems and associated hardware and software. 

• Troubleshooting Skills:

  The ability to effectively diagnose and resolve technical problems with CCTV equipment. 

• Customer Service:

  The ability to interact professionally with clients, address their needs, and provide clear explanations. 

• Attention to Detail:

  A meticulous approach to tasks and system configurations to ensure accuracy. 

• Physical Fitness:

  The physical ability to work in various environments, including climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces or at heights. 

• Documentation Skills:

  Proficiency in writing clear, factual reports and logs. 

• Communication:

  Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, teams, and reporting issues. 

• Problem-Solving:

  A keen ability to analyze situations and implement effective solutions.
