IT Hardware Engineer

Job Summary:

The IT Hardware Site Project Engineer is responsible for executing and overseeing IT hardware projects at client or internal sites. This includes the installation, configuration, and commissioning of servers, desktops, networking equipment, and other IT hardware infrastructure. The role ensures timely project delivery, adherence to technical standards, and on-site coordination with clients and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement IT hardware installations at site locations, including servers, desktops, printers, switches, routers, racks, and cabling.

• Supervise and execute on-site hardware deployment, configuration, testing, and commissioning.

• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and third-party vendors for successful execution of site projects.

• Troubleshoot hardware and basic networking issues during installation and post-deployment.

• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and security standards at the site.

• Maintain project documentation such as checklists, installation reports, asset records, and site logs.

• Track project progress and report status, risks, and issues to project managers.

• Assist in IT audits and asset tagging at the site level.

• Train client personnel or end-users on basic hardware usage or handover procedures.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.

• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in IT hardware setup or field engineering.

• Strong technical knowledge of hardware installation (PCs, servers, networking devices, etc.).

• Familiarity with network cabling standards and basic IP networking.

• Ability to read and interpret site layouts, rack diagrams, and technical schematics.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• Willingness to travel frequently to various client or project sites.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with data center or structured cabling projects.

• Certifications like CompTIA A+, Network+, or Cisco CCNA are a plus.

• Basic knowledge of Windows OS installation and system imaging tools.

• Understanding of UPS, power distribution, and environment monitoring systems.

Working Hours:
