Fiber Optics Technician

Job Responsibilities

• Perform fusion splicing of single-mode and multi-mode optical fibers.

• Conduct OTDR testing, power meter testing, light source testing, and VFL testing.

• Perform high-power and low-power testing on fiber joints.

• Handle field installation, splicing, joint closure work, and fiber route fault rectification.

• Prepare fiber patching, link testing, and fiber documentation.

• Diagnose and resolve fiber-related issues such as breaks, high-loss splices, and bends.

• Ensure proper fiber management, cleaning, and safety practices.

• Maintain splicing machine calibration, cleavers, and test equipment.

• Coordinate with project teams for FTTH, backbone, metro, and ISP networks.
