Essential Skills for a Desktop Support Engineer:
Technical Proficiency:
Strong understanding of various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
Proficiency in hardware diagnostics and repair (desktops, laptops, peripherals).
Familiarity with common software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, web browsers).
Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
Knowledge of antivirus software and cybersecurity best practices.
Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical users, explain technical concepts clearly, and document solutions.
