Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented AutoCAD Design & Costing Engineer to join our design team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing electrical panel drawings using AutoCAD and calculating project costs based on technical specifications, BOQs, and client requirements. Experience in LT/HT panels and a sound understanding of electrical components is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed GA (General Arrangement), SLD (Single Line Diagram), and wiring diagrams for electrical panels using AutoCAD.
Understand customer specifications and technical requirements for PCC, MCC, APFC, AMF, Synchronization, and Distribution Panels.
Create bill of materials (BOM) and coordinate with the purchase team for component selection.
Carry out cost estimation and costing sheets based on BOM, technical specs, and client requirements.
Work closely with the sales and project teams for design finalization and proposal preparation.
Modify drawings as per client comments, consultant approvals, or production needs.
Maintain an organized design and costing database for all ongoing and past projects.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards (IS/IEC) and internal quality norms.
Required Qualifications:
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or related field.
1–3 years of experience in AutoCAD design and costing in electrical panel manufacturing.
Proficient in AutoCAD (2D); knowledge of 3D CAD is a plus (optional).
Strong knowledge of electrical components, panel layouts, and wiring schemes.
Familiar with IS/IEC standards, electrical load calculations, and SLD preparation.
Good knowledge of Excel and costing tools.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with panel types like LT panels, HT panels, VFD panels, control panels.
Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Basic understanding of project execution lifecycle in the panel manufacturing process.
