Bird Care Duties:

• Feeding and Hydration: Providing fresh food and clean water daily, ensuring food and water dishes are clean and placed appropriately to avoid contamination.

• Cage/Aviary Cleaning: Regularly cleaning and sanitizing the bird's cage or aviary to minimize odors and the spread of bacteria, including changing cage liners or bedding daily.

• Health Monitoring: Observing the birds' behavior, eating habits, and general health, and reporting any concerns or changes to the employer immediately.

• Enrichment & Socialization: Providing clean, safe toys and perches, and ensuring the birds receive appropriate attention and exercise (if required by the species and employer's preference).

• Safety: Ensuring the birds' environment is safe and "bird-proofed" if they are allowed out of their cage to fly (e.g., closing windows/blinds, turning off hot radiators). 

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience in a housekeeping or domestic helper role.

• Prior experience with or a willingness to learn about proper bird care and handling is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of health and safety procedures, especially regarding the use of non-toxic cleaning products around sensitive animals.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and follow specific instructions.

• Reliability, honesty, and discretion.

• Good communication skills to report on household and pet matters.

• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and potentially lift heavy bags of bird feed or cages.
