Job Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for supervising housekeeping staff and ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, infection control, and maintenance of all hospital areas as per NABH and hospital standards. The role includes monitoring daily housekeeping operations, managing manpower, ensuring timely cleaning activities, and maintaining patient safety and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise housekeeping staff across wards, OPD, ICU, OT, offices, and public areas.

• Ensure proper cleaning, sanitization, and waste disposal practices.

• Maintain hospital hygiene standards as per NABH protocols.

• Prepare duty rosters and allocate daily work assignments.

• Monitor availability and usage of housekeeping materials and consumables.

• Conduct regular inspections of patient rooms and common areas.

• Coordinate with nursing, maintenance, and administration departments.

• Ensure biomedical waste segregation guidelines are followed.

• Train housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, safety, and infection control.

• Handle patient and visitor complaints related to cleanliness.

• Maintain attendance records and housekeeping reports.

• Ensure timely pest control and deep cleaning activities.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate / Diploma in Housekeeping or Hotel Management preferred.

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in hospital housekeeping supervision.

• Knowledge of hospital cleaning protocols and infection control practices.

• Good leadership and team management skills.

• Basic computer knowledge preferred.
