Position: Housekeeping Supervisor

Department: Housekeeping / Facility Management
Reporting To: Facility Manager / Admin Manager

Job Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for supervising housekeeping staff and ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and upkeep of the facility. The role involves planning daily work, monitoring staff performance, maintaining supplies, and coordinating with management to ensure a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping Operations

• Supervise daily housekeeping activities across assigned areas.

• Ensure cleanliness of offices, washrooms, common areas, and surroundings.

• Allocate duties to housekeeping staff and monitor work quality.

• Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment.

• Conduct regular inspections and ensure hygiene standards are followed.

Staff Supervision

• Maintain attendance, duty rosters, and leave records of housekeeping staff.

• Train new staff on cleaning procedures, safety, and hygiene practices.

• Ensure discipline and proper behavior of housekeeping staff.

• Motivate staff to maintain high service standards.

Inventory & Material Management

• Maintain stock of housekeeping materials and consumables.

• Raise indent/requisition for cleaning supplies as required.

• Ensure proper storage and controlled usage of materials.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and company policies.

• Promote safe working practices among staff.

• Report accidents, damages, or safety issues immediately.

Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with facility/admin team for daily requirements.

• Handle complaints related to housekeeping and take corrective action.

• Prepare daily/weekly housekeeping reports.

• Support management during audits and inspections.

Skills & Requirements

• Knowledge of housekeeping processes and cleaning standards.

• Ability to supervise and manage housekeeping staff.

• Good communication and coordination skills.

• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

• Basic computer knowledge is an added advantage.

Qualification & Experience

• Minimum 10th / 12th pass.

• 2–4 years of experience in housekeeping in a supervisory role.

• Experience in office, hospital, hotel, or industrial facility preferred.

Working Conditions

• Full-time role.

• Shift duty may be required based on operational needs.
