Job Summary:
The Housekeeping Supervisor supervises and coordinates the daily activities of housekeeping staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, and service. The supervisor assigns duties, inspects rooms and public areas, manages supplies, trains employees, and handles housekeeping-related guest or management concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping activities.
Assign rooms and cleaning tasks to housekeeping attendants.
Inspect guest rooms, public areas, corridors, and other facilities for cleanliness.
Ensure company standards for cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation are maintained.
Train, guide, and motivate housekeeping staff.
Monitor staff attendance, grooming, discipline, and work performance.
Check and maintain housekeeping equipment and cleaning supplies.
Maintain proper inventory of linen, toiletries, chemicals, and other supplies.
Report maintenance issues and damaged or missing items to the appropriate department.
Coordinate with Front Office, Maintenance, and other departments.
Handle guest complaints and resolve housekeeping-related issues professionally.
Ensure proper procedures for lost and found items are followed.
Prepare daily housekeeping reports and update room status when required.
Ensure safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Follow health, safety, and company policies at all times.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality qualification is an advantage.
Previous experience in housekeeping, preferably in a supervisory role.
Good knowledge of cleaning procedures and housekeeping standards.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to organize work and manage a team effectively.
Good attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
