Housekeeping House Keeping Staff

• General Cleaning: Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax floors, and vacuum carpets and rugs.

• Dusting & Polishing: Dust furniture, fixtures, window sills, and polish metal surfaces or accessories.

• Sanitation: Clean and disinfect restrooms, toilets, showers, and high-touch areas.

• Waste Management: Empty wastebaskets, gather trash, and transfer it to designated disposal sites.

• Supply Replenishment: Restock toiletries, drinking glasses, towels, writing supplies, and guest amenities.

• Equipment Maintenance: Clean and properly store tools like vacuums and mops, and report broken fixtures or machinery. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Room and Bed Attendant Duties

• Bed Making: Strip dirty bed linens, make beds with fresh sheets, and replace pillowcases.

• Room Turnaround: Clean guest rooms quickly and thoroughly—typically within a 20-to-45-minute window per room in hotels.

• Status Reporting: Notify the front office or management when rooms are clean and ready for new occupants, or report out-of-order (OOO) conditions. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Laundry and Linen Handling

• Sorting & Washing: Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron bed linens, bath towels, and staff uniforms.

Supervisory and Management Duties (For Leads/Managers)

• Staff Scheduling: Draft duty rotas, manage shifts, and organize daily staff briefings.

• Training & Evaluation: Train new hires on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and evaluate staff performance.
