House Keeping Staff

Job Overview:

The Housekeeping Associate at JUSTDOGS is responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, and well-organized store environment to ensure safety, comfort, and a pleasant experience for customers, pets, and employees. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth store operations and upholding JUSTDOGS’ brand reputation for cleanliness and care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain overall cleanliness of the store, including the floor area, display zones, grooming section, counters, washrooms, and storage rooms.

• Ensure pet-friendly cleanliness by regularly sanitizing areas used by pets, including grooming tables, crates, bathing stations, and common walkways.

• Dispose of waste timely and responsibly, including pet hair, grooming waste, packaging material, and general store waste.

• Maintain hygiene and odor control in grooming and pet interaction zones as per company standards.

• Assist in stocking cleaning supplies and ensuring all tools/equipment are in good working condition.

• Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning checklists and maintain proper records as assigned by the store manager.

• Support the grooming team with basic cleaning tasks before and after sessions to maintain safety and hygiene.

• Inform the store manager immediately about any maintenance issues (plumbing, electrical, fixtures, equipment).

• Follow all safety procedures and company protocols for chemical handling, cleaning agents, and pet-friendly disinfectants.

• Maintain cleanliness during customer hours and ensure the store remains presentable at all times.

• Assist during peak hours by keeping the floor area organized and clutter-free.

Requirements:

• Prior housekeeping experience preferred (retail, grooming centers, hospitality, or pet stores is a plus).

• Ability to work around pets confidently and comfortably.

• Basic understanding of hygiene, cleanliness standards, and safe chemical usage.

• Physically fit to handle cleaning tasks such as mopping, lifting, pushing carts, etc.

• Ability to work in shifts, weekends, and peak store seasons.

• Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
