Job Summary
Hospital Housekeeping staff are responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and a safe environment in patient rooms, wards, operation theatres (as assigned), corridors, waiting areas, offices, and other hospital premises. They help prevent infections by following hospital cleaning protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Clean and disinfect patient rooms, wards, ICUs, OPDs, and common areas.
Sweep, mop, dust, and sanitize floors, walls, furniture, and equipment.
Dispose of biomedical and general waste according to hospital guidelines.
Refill hand sanitizers, soap dispensers, tissues, and other hygiene supplies.
Clean and maintain washrooms regularly.
Follow infection control and safety procedures.
Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
Report maintenance issues or damages to the supervisor.
Respond promptly to emergency cleaning requests (e.g., spills, blood/body fluid cleaning).
Wear the required PPE while performing duties.
