Dish Washer

A dishwasher's job involves cleaning and sanitizing dishes, utensils, and cookware, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, managing trash, and assisting kitchen staff with prep and closing duties, all while strictly following food safety and hygiene standards. Key duties include operating dish machines, handwashing delicate items, organizing clean ware, cleaning equipment, and ensuring safe, sanitary conditions, often in fast-paced, hot, and wet environments, requiring physical stamina and teamwork. 

Key Responsibilities

• Washing & Sanitizing: Scrape, rinse, load, and unload dishwashing machines; handwash glassware, pots, and pans.

• Kitchen Maintenance: Clean and sanitize dishwashing areas, storage, floors, and equipment (coffee machines, etc.).

• Waste Management: Empty, clean, and replace trash and recycling receptacles.

• Organization: Properly store clean dishes, utensils, and cookware, rotating items as needed.

• Support: Assist prep cooks with basic food prep, take out trash, and help with closing duties.

• Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation policies, reporting issues immediately. 

Essential Skills & Requirements

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs), and work in hot/wet conditions.

• Attention to Detail: Focus on cleanliness, hygiene, and proper sanitization.

• Teamwork: Communicate and work effectively with kitchen staff.

• Reliability: Dependable and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Food Safety Knowledge: Understanding and compliance with health codes.
