Job Description — Warehouse Supervisor (CSS Module Storage, Chirle/Uran)
Position: Warehouse Supervisor
Reports to: Project Manager, Proway Logistics
Location: Chirle Warehouse, Uran, Navi Mumbai
Role Purpose
Own day-to-day execution and safety compliance for inbound, storage, and outbound handling of ODC Cargo (16–25 MT) at the Chirle site, and act as the single point of accountability for Proway's operations team, including coordination with the crane vendor.
Key Responsibilities
Gate-in/gate-out: verify trailer/unit documentation, oversee visual inspection of each CSS Module on arrival, and generate GRN before put-away.
Lifting operations: coordinate directly with the Franna crane vendor for tandem-lift unloading per SOP-CSS-UNLD-01 — confirm rigger/operator/banksman certifications and crane/tackle validity before every lift.
Pre-lift safety: ensure a JSA is completed for each lift; enforce exclusion zones, PPE, and no-stacking/single-layer placement rules.
Storage management: allocate and track bay/slot for each unit, maintain FIFO sequencing against the 3-lot delivery schedule, and monitor floor space utilization
Documentation: maintain inward/outward register, E-Way bills, delivery challans, and daily activity log; update WMS/ERP entries same-day.
Site coordination: liaise with the site contact on delivery schedules, dispatch readiness, and any damage/discrepancy reporting.
EHS compliance: conduct daily pre-shift checks (crane readiness, housekeeping, fire/emergency access clearances), report near-misses/incidents immediately to the Project Manager.
Team supervision: manage on-site labour/security, enforce shift discipline, and be the first escalation point for any operational issue.
Requirements
Diploma/degree in mechanical, industrial, or logistics engineering (or equivalent hands-on experience).
3+ years in heavy/OD cargo warehousing, industrial equipment handling, or project cargo — crane/rigging lift exposure required.
Working knowledge of HIRA/JSA processes and basic EHS documentation.
Comfortable with WMS/ERP data entry and daily MIS reporting.
Physically able to be on the warehouse floor through lift operations; willing to work flexible hours around vessel/trailer schedules.
Reporting Cadence: Daily activity log + lift completion report to Project Manager; immediate flagging of any SLA-risk event (delay, damage, near-miss).
