Job Summary:
The Warehouse In-Charge is responsible for overseeing day-to-day warehouse operations for an eCommerce business, ensuring accurate inventory control, timely order fulfilment, and smooth coordination between inbound, storage, and outbound activities. This role focuses on efficiency, accuracy, and meeting fast-paced eCommerce delivery timelines.
Job Description:
Fulfilment Centre Operations
Oversee inbound, put-away, storage, picking, packing, and outbound dispatch operations.
Ensure same-day/next-day dispatch as per marketplace SLAs.
Manage high SKU count and fast-moving inventory efficiently.
Optimize workflow to handle peak sales periods (sales events, festive rush).
Inventory Control & Systems
Maintain real-time inventory accuracy using WMS/OMS systems.
Monitor inward GRN, binning, cycle counts, and reconciliation.
Handle inventory discrepancies, damages, short/excess cases, and shrinkage.
Coordinate stock transfers, RTVs, and liquidation processes.
Workforce & Productivity Management
Supervise shift-based warehouse staff, team leads, and temporary manpower.
Plan manpower for daily volumes, peak demand, and night shifts.
Track productivity metrics such as pick rate, pack rate, and order throughput.
Train teams on barcode scanning, handheld devices, and SOP compliance.
Quality, Returns & Reverse Logistics
Ensure zero-defect picking and packing to minimize RTOs and customer complaints.
Manage customer returns, QC checks, re-inwarding, and disposition.
Ensure marketplace packaging, labelling, and documentation standards are followed.
SLA, Metrics & Reporting
Monitor daily KPIs: order processing time, fill rate, inventory accuracy, and aging.
Prepare daily dashboards and operational MIS reports.
Analyze bottlenecks and implement continuous process improvements.
Safety, Compliance & Audit
Maintain warehouse safety, 5S standards, and compliance with audit requirements.
Ensure adherence to marketplace guidelines, security norms, and loss prevention.
Handle internal and external audits smoothly.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
Coordinate with transportation partners, hub teams, and last-mile delivery teams.
Work closely with customer support and category teams for issue resolution.
Act as the escalation point for operational challenges.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in logistics, supply chain,
1.5 to 3.5years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably in eCommerce.
Strong knowledge of inventory control and order fulfilment processes.
Experience with WMS/ERP systems and basic MS Excel.
Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
