Core responsibilities

• Sales and business development:

  Identify new sales opportunities, generate leads, and promote logistics and shipping services to both new and existing customers. 

• Client management:

  Act as the primary point of contact for clients, build strong relationships, and ensure customer satisfaction by understanding their needs and offering solutions. 

• Negotiation and quoting:

  Prepare competitive quotes, negotiate shipping contracts, and finalize deals to meet sales goals and quotas. 

• Coordination:

  Work with internal teams, including logistics, operations, and customer service, to arrange transportation, manage shipments, and resolve issues. 

• Logistics support:

  Coordinate with internal teams and external partners (like carriers) to ensure timely delivery and handle any problems that arise during the shipping process. 

• Administrative tasks:

  Process sales orders, maintain accurate customer records, and handle shipping documentation and invoicing. 

Key skills and qualifications

• Communication:

  Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with clients and internal teams. 

• Negotiation:

  The ability to negotiate contracts and prices effectively is crucial for closing deals. 

• Sales aptitude:

  Experience in sales, particularly in the logistics or transportation industry, is often required. 

• Customer service:

  A commitment to resolving customer issues and ensuring their satisfaction is a core part of the role. 

• Organizational skills:

  The ability to manage a high volume of calls, multitask, and stay organized is necessary to handle all aspects of the job. 

• Industry knowledge:

  Familiarity with industry trends, regulations, and different types of logistics services (like air freight, LTL, and warehousing) is beneficial.
