Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Logistics Manager to oversee end-to-end logistics operations, including imports, exports, order processing, shipping coordination, customs compliance, and supply chain management. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth movement of goods, timely order execution, cost optimization, and compliance with international trade regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Import Management
Handle complete import operations from purchase order placement to final delivery.
Coordinate with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and CHA (Custom House Agents).
Manage import documentation including Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, Insurance, and other shipping documents.
Ensure timely customs clearance and compliance with DGFT, Customs, and other regulatory authorities.
Monitor import shipment schedules and proactively resolve shipment delays or discrepancies.
Calculate landed cost and maintain records of duties, taxes, and freight expenses.
Export Management
Manage end-to-end export operations and international shipments.
Prepare and verify export documentation including Shipping Bills, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, LUT, and other export compliance documents.
Coordinate with freight forwarders, CHA, shipping companies, and overseas customers.
Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and export procedures.
Handle export incentives, EPCG, duty drawback, and other export-related schemes wherever applicable.
Logistics & Transportation Management
Plan and manage domestic and international logistics activities.
Negotiate freight rates with transporters, shipping lines, and logistics partners.
Monitor shipment tracking and ensure on-time delivery.
Develop cost-effective logistics strategies to reduce transportation expenses.
Handle insurance claims and resolve logistics-related disputes.
Order Processing & Coordination
Manage complete order processing from receipt of customer orders to dispatch and delivery.
Coordinate with sales, procurement, warehouse, production, and accounts departments for smooth execution of orders.
Monitor order status and ensure timely communication with customers regarding shipment schedules.
Maintain accurate records of order processing, dispatches, and pending deliveries.
Documentation & Compliance
Ensure all import/export documentation is accurate and compliant with statutory requirements.
Maintain records related to customs, shipping, logistics, and order processing.
Ensure compliance with GST, FEMA, DGFT, Customs regulations, and international trade norms.
Prepare MIS reports and logistics performance reports for management review.
Vendor & Supply Chain Management
Develop and maintain relationships with logistics service providers, freight forwarders, transporters, and shipping partners.
Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts and service agreements.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
Team Management
Lead and supervise logistics and order processing teams.
Establish KPIs and monitor team performance.
Train team members on logistics procedures, documentation, and compliance requirements.
Required Skills & Expertise
Strong expertise in Import & Export Operations.
Excellent knowledge of International Trade Regulations and Customs Procedures.
Hands-on experience in handling Freight Forwarders, CHA, Shipping Lines, and Courier Partners.
Expertise in Export Documentation and Import Documentation.
Strong knowledge of INCOTERMS (FOB, CIF, EXW, DDP, CFR, etc.).
Experience in Letter of Credit (LC), Advance Payments, Bank Documentation, and International Payments.
Knowledge of DGFT procedures, EPCG, Duty Drawback, LUT, and FEMA regulations.
Strong order processing and supply chain coordination skills.
Excellent negotiation and vendor management abilities.
Advanced knowledge of ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and logistics software.
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, Engineering, or related field.
MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain Management, International Business, or Operations will be preferred.
