Job Description: Logistics Executive

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive, highly driven, and resourceful ••Logistics Executive•• to oversee and optimize our pan-India freight and transport operations. As an agri-commodity trading and broking firm, smooth, cost-effective, and timely movement of goods is critical to our success.

In this role, you will be the primary link between suppliers, buyers, and transport networks. When suppliers are unable to arrange logistics from any origin across India, you will step in seamlessly to source, negotiate, and deploy freight solutions at the best market rates.

## Key Responsibilities

### 1. Vendor & Transporter Management

• Build, maintain, and expand a reliable pan-India network of direct transporters, freight brokers, and local fleet owners across all major trading corridors and remote locations.

• Quickly step in and organize transport solutions whenever suppliers fail or are unable to arrange vehicles.

• Conduct regular performance evaluations of vendors based on reliability, transit times, and cost-efficiency.

### 2. Rate Negotiation & Cost Control

• Daily procurement of freight rates through competitive bidding across multiple transport providers.

• Negotiate the best freight rates to maximize margin efficiency for trading and broking transactions.

• Analyze market trends, seasonal freight fluctuations, and fuel surcharges to forecast and secure optimal pricing.

### 3. Vehicle Dispatch & Track & Trace

• Source and place appropriate vehicle types (e.g., open trucks, containerized vehicles, trailers) matching specific commodity load requirements and volume specifications.

• Track daily dispatches, in-transit movements, and deliveries to ensure strict adherence to timelines and minimize turnaround time (TAT).

• Proactively resolve freight bottlenecks, vehicle breakdowns, delays, or route diversions.

### 4. Documentation & Compliance Management

• Ensure accurate preparation, verification, and management of all logistics documentation, including:

• Lorry Receipts (LR) / LRs / Bilti

• E-Way Bills & Tax Invoices

• Consignment Notes & Delivery Challans

• Weight Slips (Weighbridge Verification)

• Ensure strict compliance with GST regulations, state border permits, check-post rules, and transport laws across all Indian states.

### 5. Claims & Invoice Processing

• Manage and reconcile transport bills, freight advance payments, balance payments, and detention/demurrage charges.

• Coordinate transit damage assessments, shortage reporting, and process transit insurance claims when necessary.

## Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

• ••Experience:•• 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in transport arrangement, freight sourcing, and logistics execution (experience in ••agri-commodity trading/broking•• or bulk goods movement is strongly preferred).

• ••Skills & Competencies:••

• ••Negotiation Power:•• Strong commercial acumen and persuasive negotiation skills with transporters and truck unions across India.

• ••Problem-Solving Ability:•• Resourceful and quick to act when suppliers cannot provide transport in remote or challenging locations.

• ••Quick Learner & Adaptable:•• Rapidly understands product specifications, load capacities, route economics, and dynamic market conditions.

• ••Efficiency & Agility:•• Capable of working under pressure and managing high-volume, time-sensitive dispatches simultaneously.

• ••Pan-India Geographic Knowledge:•• Understanding of major freight corridors, state check-posts, and regional transport hubs across North, South, East, and West India.

• ••Technical Skills:•• Basic to intermediate proficiency in MS Excel / Google Sheets, ERP operations, and logistics management software.

• ••Communication:•• Clear verbal and written communication skills in Hindi and English (knowledge of regional languages is an added advantage for dealing with local transporters).
